Profile of Thomas J. Judge, Sr. Chairman

Republican political leadership in Delaware County has flourished under the steady guidance and direction of Tom Judge since 1975. As Republican Party leader of Delaware County, Mr. Judge has managed numerous State and local campaign committees and has played an integral role in the implementation of party policy. Mr. Judge has served on the Republican Party of Pennsylvania Policy Committee which involved visits to all counties in Pennsylvania for the purpose of soliciting Republican Party member's ideas to be used in developing Republican Party Policy Report and recommendations.

Tom Judge's proven management skills and tireless support and enthusiasm on behalf of the Republican Party have not gone unnoticed in Washington. In 1987 Mr. Judge was tapped by then Vice-President George Bush to serve as Chairman of his Presidential Campaign Committee for the Keystone State. Despite being handicapped by a 500,000 voter registration disadvantage in Pennsylvania, George Bush won the State in the 1988 general election with the assistance of a far superior Republican organization, in large part due to the efforts of Tom Judge.

Mr. Judge got his first real taste of politics when he was elected to office in 1959. In 1963 he became Chairman of the Republican Party of Darby Township, a position he has held ever since. In 1975 he became a member of the Pennsylvania Republican State Committee, and since 1985 he has served as Chairman of the Southeast Republican Caucus, consisting of Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery and Philadelphia Counties. Tom Judge has also represented Pennsylvania as a Delegate or Alternate Delegate to the 1980; 1984; 1988; 1992; 1996 and 2000 Republican National Conventions.

Professionally, Mr. Judge was appointed the Recorder of Deeds of Delaware County in 1992. Prior to serving as Recorder of Deeds he was the Executive Director of Solid Waste in Delaware County; Director, Medical Professional Liability Catastrophe Loss Fund; and also worked for Conrail for 30 years in various management positions.

Despite his considerable commitments on the County and State level, Mr. Judge continues to play an active role within the local community. His community service includes membership in the American Legion, Briarcliffe Father and Son Athletic Association and the Knights of Columbus, De LaSalle Council.

Tom and his wife Catherine are members of Our Lady of Fatima Parish, Secane, Pennsylvania. They have five children and twelve grandchildren.
